Our story
2SmartHome was born in Barcelona in 2024 with a clear mission: to make home automation technology accessible and useful for everyone, not just the most tech-savvy.
In just over two years we've completed more than 100 installations in homes, offices, hotels and commercial spaces across Barcelona and its metropolitan area. Every project has taught us something new and helped us refine the way we work.
Our goal isn't just to install technology, but to be with you along the way: to understand how you live, how you work and how your space can make your life easier. That's what sets us apart.
Who's behind it
Founder
Computer engineer · Master's in Cybersecurity (UPC)
Computer engineer with a master's in Cybersecurity from the UPC. Arnau founded 2SmartHome in 2024 with one conviction: a smart home shouldn't depend on anyone's cloud. That security background is the reason every installation runs locally, with the client's data kept inside the home. The founder designs the architecture of every project and writes the technical guides on the blog.
Head of customer experience
Psychology graduate (UOC)
A psychology graduate from the UOC, Raquel leads customer experience at 2SmartHome, a job that starts before the installation: understanding how each client lives and works in order to design automations that adapt to their routines, not the other way round. Raquel also guides clients through the whole process and runs the final training, so that anyone — whatever their age or technical level — can use their smart home with confidence from day one.
How we work
We work with brands of proven reliability — Shelly, Aqara, Sonoff, SMLight, Somfy, Eltako and Ajax — on a local platform: the brain of the system lives in your installation, not in a manufacturer's cloud. It's a design decision we apply to every project, because it makes the system faster and more reliable, and because the data from your home or business has no reason to leave it — we explain why we work with cloud-free home automation. If a manufacturer disappears or changes its terms, your installation keeps working exactly the same: it doesn't depend on external servers or licences.
Every project comes with the same warranty: we guarantee our installation and configuration for 5 years — if anything stops working because of how it was installed or integrated, we fix it at no cost. The devices carry their manufacturer's warranty (2–3 years), and we handle it for you. And because we're based in Badalona, our support is local: a reply in under 24 hours anywhere in the Barcelona metropolitan area. Handover always includes training: we show you how to use the system and leave the dashboards set up to suit whoever will be using them every day, with no jargon.
